Handspring Visor Stylus Rainbow Pack – Electronics
Handspring Visor Stylus Rainbow PackI ended up ordering this pack after I lost my stylus. I was in panic mode and using the edge of my fingernail until the pkg. arrived. I would have preferred to have a pack already available as a back-up.I ended up finding the lost stylus, but about 2 months after I bought the replacement pack. They are the same quality as the stylus that ships w/ the Handspring… nicely weighted w/ both a reset pin (in the tip) and a metal screwdriver (hidden in the top part). My only criticism of these stylii by Handspring is the material they use for the points… and I mean the sold plastic points, not just the trendy see-through plastic… they’re all the same.Palm Pilot’s stylii (in my experience) never scratch the screen. The Handspring stylii have a tendency to pick up the most minute bit of debris (dandruf, dust particle, whatever) and allows you to carve a scratch in the surface of the screen that will make you scream in agony. I don’t mean a faint “normal use” scratch… I mean the kind you find on your car when someone keys it. I now have 3 such horrendous scratches on my screen. In 2 years of using a Palm Pilot, the screen still looks almost new. Maybe it’s the material used for the Handspring screen, not the stylus… but there is a definite difference in the feel of the point of the Handspring stylii vs. the Palm version.I still prefer my Handspring to the Palm, especially due to the springboard slot, but this is a definite manufacturer bug, not a feature.Nevertheless, these are nice stylii and if you’re like me and occasionally get home to find that you’ve left your stylus on your desk at work, it’s nice to know you’ve got a back-up at home.
