Ink Cartridge, Toner Cartridge, Fax Cartridge, Copier CartridgeAs winter begins to fade and spring gives us a warm embrace, your mind may wander to enjoying a leisurely day in the sun especially after the bitter cold of the last couple months.Along with thoughts of leisurely walks under the trees, some of you may be thinking that it’s time to dust off the last remnants of winter with a little spring cleaning. As you are renewing your homes or workplaces, don’t forget your computers and printers. They may need a little spring cleaning too.Here are a few helpful hints for cleaning these important pieces of equipment.1. Use a microfiber or lint-free cloth to remove dust and grime from the surface of your equipment. I prefer a simple microfiber cloth because it has no oils or additives that may damage electronic equipment. For hard to remove messes, add a little rubbing alcohol to the cloth, but never pour or spray liquid directly on to your equipment.2. When cleaning a standard desktop keyboard, it is probably best to unplug the keyboard before cleaning. Although turning your keyboard upside down will dislodge some debris, using a can of compressed air works even better. Wipe the keys with a little rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth to remove grime and germs.3. For printing equipment, clean the surfaces with your microfiber cloth and if needed some rubbing alcohol and remember not to spray surfaces with fluid. You may also want to run the test program at this time to make sure you are getting the best print quality.4. Don’t forget to clean beneath your computer equipment and printer. You won’t believe the dust bunnies that have been hiding under there!5. If you feel it is necessary to clean inside any of your equipment, consult the manufacturer for more detailed instruction.6. Last, sound a deep sigh of relief because you are done and that was probably the easiest of your spring cleaning tasks.And of course, don’t forget to check your supply of ink as you take care of your computer equipment!
