They also use a significant amount of Black ink and are an excellent test of your inkjets “refill” status.SymptomsYou see any horizontal lines within this printout.DiagnosisThere is a good possibility that you ink cartridge is running low, and or your jets are partially blocked.SolutionsIf putting your printer through a few cleaning cycles doesn’t rectify the problem you are probably running out of ink and should change your cartridge.Color Bars Row 1The 1st color bar row represents the primary color elements used to produce all color variations. Your inkjet cartridges are composed of these 3 color elements being Cyan (C), Yellow (Y) and Magenta (M) . These colors designated as Red (R), Green (G) and Blue (B) are the primary colors use in the manufacture of CRT and LCD monitors to display color.Without going into the technical details, as the fundamental properties of creating color from a monitor differ from that of a printer( One uses emission of colors, and the other uses absorption of color) there needs to be a “Profile” to define how to translate colors between these 2 mediums.Fortunately, most current operating systems and photo manipulation software come supplied with standard profiles for matching these 2 elements, and are satisfactory for most applications and photo reproduction.
